Montana state registration required for all business accounts
NOTE: Employer Identification Number (EIN) is required prior to account opening. Copy of IRS EIN number assignment is preferred as proof.
Sole Proprietorship: State of Montana Registration
Partnership: State of Montana Registration and Partnership Agreement
Limited Liability Company: State of Montana Registration, Articles of Organization and/or Operating Agreement
Corporation: State of Montana Registration, Articles of Incorporation and/or By‐laws
Unincorporated Associations: By‐laws, board of trustee minutes authorizing bank account, letter from association officer naming officers of association and their signatory powers
Authorized signers will need to provide two pieces of identification to document identity:
Primary Identification (must have a signature and picture):
- A valid, non‐expired, Government‐issued Driver’s License
- A valid, non‐expired, Government‐issued I.D. Card
- A valid, non‐expired, Government‐issued Passport
- An Armed Forces Identification Card
Secondary Identification (must either have a picture or a signature, or be a credit report):
- A School Identification Card
- ID cards of policemen, firemen, and their civilian auxiliaries
- ID cards of other government agencies
- ID cards issued by an employer, bearing a photograph and signature
- A signed major credit card or debit card issued from another bank
