Summer travel season is here and whether you’re heading across Montana or across the country, taking a few simple precautions can help keep your debit card safe while you’re away!

  • Before you travel, make sure your contact information is up to date with the bank. If we detect suspicious activity on your account, we’ll need a way to reach you quickly.
  • It’s also a good idea to regularly monitor your account activity through Online Banking or the Bank of Bozeman Mobile App. Checking your transactions frequently can help you spot unauthorized purchases and report them right away.
  • When making purchases, use secure payment terminals and be cautious when using public Wi-Fi to access financial accounts. If you need to check your account while traveling, use a secure network or your mobile data connection whenever possible.
  • Most importantly, if your debit card is lost, stolen, or compromised, contact the bank immediately. The sooner suspicious activity is reported, the sooner we can help protect your account.

A little preparation can go a long way toward ensuring your summer travels are memorable for all the right reasons!
